TWO LOCAL MUSCIANS USED THEIR MUSIC TO SUPPORT THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM.

Solomon Islands local musicians, Floyd Manata who is known as Funky and DJ Ozlam have finished a football song to support the national football team in their preparation for the upcoming two important matches against the mighty All Whites.

There have been a lot of great music coming out of Solomon Islands and recently some local hits also hit the airwaves all over the Pacific. All this music are simply products from our local artists singing and producing it. Funky and DJ Ozlam took some time out of their busy schedule to write and produce a song to support the national football team. In an interview with Floyd Manata, he mentioned how music has the power of giving information and story to the people. “I believe music has the power to inform, influence and even guide people’s perspective. We decided to write this song because we both love football and always wishing our boys all the best. I think it’s fitting to actually have a song dedicated to the boys”, said Mr. Floyd Manata.

DJ Ozlam who is currently busy in Port Moresby, was quite happy to be part of the song. The Solomon Islander who is responsible for producing a lot of the music for the artists around the Pacific was a football fan and delighted to contribute through his skills as support to the national football team. The song was even decorated with the introduction by Solomon Islands’ legendary football commentator, Bart Basia’s voice. The legendary football commentator also stated how excited he is looking for the song to hit the Solomon Islands radio stations. “I did the recording because I have always been following football in Solomon Islands. This is part of my contribution to supporting our boys”, said Bart Basia.

The new song is expected to be out on the FM stations in Honiara by this week. It has already been played few times at Lawson Tama Stadium and currently is surfacing on the Facebook as well.
